Live Covid updates as Wales’ health minister gives latest update

Health Minister Eluned Morgan and Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Chris Jones will be giving the latest coronavirus briefing and the latest figures on the Delta variant.

It comes as some restrictions in Wales ease slightly, with capacity rules in music and comedy venues being relaxed a little and the number of guests attending wedding receptions and wakes increasing.

The latest figures published by Public Health Wales (PHW) on Sunday afternoon latest infection rate is 25.1 cases per 100,000 population based on the seven days between June 8 and June 14 – up from 23.6 on Friday.

Latest figures also show that 2,236,091 people have had a first dose of the Covid vaccine, and 1,509,144 have had both doses.

Wales is now the leading UK nation for adults fully vaccinated against coronavirus the number of adults who’ve had a first dose.

They should that 59.82% adults in Wales have had both vaccines compared to 59.81% in England, 57.62% in Scotland and 54.9% in Northern Ireland.
