Long queues on M4 after car overturns

A car overturned on the M4 in the Newport area on Monday morning (September 26). Huge queues formed after the incident took place on the westbound between J26 Malpas and J27 High Cross.

Fire service were at the scene and two lanes were closed for recovery. There were long delays with travel time said to be 40 minutes and congestion in areas such as the J24 in Coldra.

There was also a separate incident causing delays heading eastbound between J35 Pencoed and J34 Miskin, with heavy congestion also in the area.

Traffic Wales confirmed at around 10am that both roads have been cleared and all lanes are now re-opened.
