A murder investigation has been launched after man a man was found dead in a house in Gwynedd.
North Wales Police has confirmed a man has died following an incident at a property near Penrhyndeudraeth on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services, an air ambulance, were called to a property in the Minffordd area at around 1.30pm before the man’s body was discovered, North Wales Live reported.
Members of the public were urged to avoid the area as armed police descended on the scene and carried out a search of the nearby area.
Uniformed officers and detectives were seen carrying out an investigation at the property, with forensic investigators also at the scene of the incident.
A man is currently being held in police custody in connection with the incident.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “We can sadly confirm that we are investigating the murder of a man this afternoon in Minffordd, Penrhyndeudraeth.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family, who are being supported by specially trained officers.
“One man is currently in custody, and there are no ongoing concerns for public safety.”
A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called shortly after 1.30pm today, Thursday, March 25, 2021, to an incident in the Minffordd area of Penrhyndeudraeth, and sent two rapid response cars and a Wales Air Ambulance to the scene.”
