New Blackwood business keeps people in the picture

Pretty Little Pictures received a £500 Business Support Grant to set up the venture which offers fun photo opportunities at weddings and events.

Matt and Lucy Roberts provide a range of backdrops such as The Pretty Little Picture Frame, The Blooming Backdrop, The Posing Shed and The Blossoming Backdrop. ‘Booth Butlers’ are on hand to help and a personalised guest book records the day.

The grant was provided jointly by Tata Steel subsidiary UKSE and Caerphilly County Borough Council. The fund has helped launch a range of small businesses in the county over the last ten years, including IT companies, a cattery, hair stylist and a music store.

Cllr Sean Morgan, deputy leader and cabinet member for economy and enterprise at Caerphilly County Borough Council, said: “We are delighted to have helped Pretty Little Pictures get their business up and running. The Business Support programme is very important in Caerphilly in terms of helping small new ventures get off the ground.”

Glyn Thomas, manager in Wales for UKSE, said: “We are delighted to work with the council providing initial seed funding for entrepreneurs in Caerphilly. This enables them to get to the first stage, and UKSE is also able to help them after this with further funding and business accommodation.”
